Aloe vera – the empress of medicinal plants
Aloe vera has been used by many different cultures for over 6,000 years. The Egyptian queens Nefertiti and Cleopatra knew just how valuable Aloe vera was for their beauty and well-being. Throughout Chinese cultural history, Aloe vera was also a symbol of immortality. Botanists know of up to 250 different varieties of the aloe plant, one being the Aloe vera Barbadensis Miller and this variety can be consumed as a foodstuff. In it’s semi-arid to arid natural habitat, the Aloe vera plant often has to endure long periods of harsh sun with no rainfall. This is why the plant is able to form its own store of nutrients and water, which enable it to survive.
The Aloe Barbadensis Miller plant
ORGANIC ALOE VERA JUICE contains the naturally cloudy juice of the plant, extracted from the fresh plant leaves (original Aloe Barbadensis Miller plant). The juice is not filtered and thus retains all the fibre and particles of the leaf fillet. This gives the juice its full-bodied, tangy fresh flavour.
Extracted with the utmost care without using chemical additives
Within just 6 hours of harvesting, the leaves are peeled by hand and the Aloe vera gel extracted for further processing. Only ripe leaves are used in ORGANIC ALOE VERA JUICE.
